Description: |
Schizophrenia is a serious mental illness that can be devastating for those who suffer with it, their families and their communities. Strategies for early intervention are considered essential for improving outcomes and reducing costs for almost every chronic and disabling illness. Service system models have been developed in a number of countries that demonstrate the benefits of early intervention for schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. This course focuses on the most comprehensive and systematic programmatic efforts in early intervention throughout the world. It is intended to inspire interest and support for the development of early intervention programs for individuals with schizophrenia in the United States.
